The largest pediatric emergency room in Pakistan started functioning last week at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Karachi. The capacity has been increased from 28 beds to 55 beds in this state-of-the-art example of the successful public-private partnership between ChildLife Foundation and the Government of Sindh.
The donations for this 45 million rupee reconstruction, refurbishment and expansion came from a group of friends from Karachi, who have also taken up the responsibility of supporting the ongoing operations of this ER. With more than 450 children getting free and quality, life-saving treatment every day, this facility is now setting standards for providing quality care to children at imminent risk of life in Pakistan
